My first trip to this location netted a pair of CSX detour trains. NS 070, a CSX detour train due to a wreck on the River Line up in New York, heads east through Cove, PA on the NS Pittsburgh Line on the morning of August 17, 2010. A pair of GEVOs handle the rather long consist of stacks towards Harrisburg. The train would continue east towards Reading, Allentown and eventually New Jersey where it would rejoin CSX rails.
A BNSF SD70MAC and a KCS SD70ACe lug a loaded coal train up the grade of Crawford Hill, seen from the overpass at Belmont, NE on July 30, 2009. Traffic on Crawford Hill mostly consists of coal loads and empties with the occasional manifest and stack train. Belmont offers a variety of different angles to shoot from, including from track level and the bridge. This train could be heard twenty minutes before it appeared around the bend.
